All tuition assistance is to be based on economic need. There are two ways to obtain financial tuition assistance — through the Diocesan Frances Warde Fund (which is available to all based on need) and your parish fund.

All parents seeking tuition assistance must obtain a FACTS Grant Aid Service application from the school office beginning in January for the following school year. Forms must be returned to the school by the first week of February. Forms not sent in by the specified date may not be granted.

Any individual applying for tuition assistance through the FACTS program will be applying for both parish and the Francis Warde Fund. St. Kevin parishioners must be contributing to the budget system on a weekly basis as proof of attendance at Mass in order to receive parish assistance. Catholic non-parishioners should apply through their own parish for tuition assistance, but may also complete the FACTS form for the Frances Warde Fund.

    How to Apply

All the steps with an * indicate something that the school family will need to do. The other steps are listed so that you understand the whole process, including what goes on “behind the scenes”.

* 1. Complete the Facts Grant Aid and Assessment Form.
Attach copies of all pages of your most recent IRS Form 1040 plus all W2 and/or 1099 forms for individuals listed in Section 1 and 2 of the Form.

* 2. Clip check for $20.00 payable to Facts Grant and Aid Assessment
and return with the Facts Grant form to the school office by the first week of February

NOTE: If the form is sent by the parent to the Facts Grant Aid
directly, the school office cannot track it and will not be
responsible for “lost” forms. Parents also have the option
of filing on line. Go to www.factstuitionaid.com and
follow the instructions.

3. Facts returns the form to the school office by the first week of March . (for those sent in by deadline. Others will be returned on a rolling basis as they are completed by the Facts). Facts also sends information to the Catholic School Office so families can be included if their financial need qualifies them for Diocesan financial assistance through the Frances Ward fund. (Note: late applications may not be eligible for these funds).

4. School office sends the Facts summary form to the pastor and the tuition assistance committee. The committee meets to determine the amount of assistance granted to each family. A letter is sent to each family indicating the amount granted. In the event that you need additional aid, you may contact the pastor or principal to discuss your needs. Personal tax information is not sent to the School. Only the results of the companies findings are given to a select committee.

FOR ALL PARISHES, the following applies
Families applying for financial aid from that parish :
• Must be formally registered in the parish
• Must attend mass regularly
• Must use the church budget envelopes consistently.

Parishioners of St. Rita, St. Catherine’s and St. Gregory’s must use the request form and meet with the pastor as needed to determine the amount of aid that will be given.

FOR NON CATHOLIC FAMILIES – The PSAS form information will be sent to the Catholic School Office where it is ranked with all families according to need. Completing this form for the Catholic School Office is necessary to see if families are eligible for funds through the Frances Ward Fund.

Forms which have been mentioned are identified below:

FACTS Form – this is sent to every school family with the re-registration package or given to every new family who requests it at registration time. The form is completed by the parents, returned to the school, sent to FACTS, who complete their financial calculations and then return it to the school office. The school then sends the FACTS summary form to the pastors.

School Form – this is sent to the parents at the time that the school notifies them about sending their FACTS summary information to the pastor. The form is signed by the parents and the pastor, and the amount of financial aid is identified, as well as the portion that the parents will pay.

ALL OTHER Parishioners are responsible for contacting their pastor for an appointment.
